Denver Center for the Performing Arts Casting Statement
The Denver Center intends to lead all decisions from selecting each play to the final bow, with empathy and respect. We acknowledge that race, gender, ethnicity and physical abilities of the actors on stage have meaning, and we want to be mindful of that throughout our practices. DCPA Theatre Company, Cabaret & Education 2025-2026 Season Auditions
DCPA has completed their season auditions and EPA’s in both Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado.
Show specific auditions will take place throughout our season (locally and nationally) at which point individual breakdowns will be released for the roles we will be seeking.
At this point in time, we are not accepting video submissions to be considered for the season or for any specific show.

We offer internships to students and graduates for specific positions across our organization. If there are no current listings posted here, please do not apply. We do not accept unsolicited resumes. Check back soon for future internship opportunities.
Stage Management Apprenticeship
The Stage Management Apprenticeship at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts offers an immersive, hands-on learning experience for aspiring stage managers. This prestigious paid program allows apprentices to work alongside seasoned professionals in a vibrant, fast-paced environment, gaining invaluable skills in coordinating all aspects of a production, from pre-production to rehearsal to performances. With exposure to a wide range of productions in a variety of performing spaces—apprentices will develop the expertise needed to thrive in the dynamic world of stage management, all while contributing to the success of one of the country’s leading cultural institutions.
3 to 5 full-time paid apprenticeships are available per season. Apprentice tracks will vary in length based on show assignments.
Dates and Hours
Positions are available during the Denver Center’s Season, typically August through May, varying in length from 10-40 weeks.
Hours range from 28-52 hours a week over a 6-day work week.
Hours worked in excess of 40 a week or 12 daily will be paid at overtime rate (1.5x).
Housing provided for apprentices with Point of Origin over 50 miles from the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
Application Process:
You will be asked to submit a cover letter, resume, 3 references and a paperwork sample.
Applications will be accepted during the month of February for the following season. You can apply on the DCPA Careers page through the “View Current Openings” link. Interviews will be conducted in person or remotely during the month of April.

PLAY SUBMISSIONS
Thank you for your interest in sharing your work with the Denver Center Theatre Company.
We are currently taking a pause with our submission process, as we reimagine both our literary department and submissions procedures. We will update this page once a new process is determined.
In regards to former submissions, due to the volume of inquiries that we’ve received, we do not have the capacity to respond to every query. We appreciate your patience as we read every submission and give each script careful consideration. A member of our staff will reach out if we have interest in further discussing your submission.

SUBMIT A PLAY
We accept unproduced original, full-length plays and musicals, which must be submitted by a literary agent. Playwrights residing in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, or Utah may send plays directly without an agent. We have a special interest in plays written by and for diverse voices, plays written by women playwrights and we are also interested in plays written for young audiences. Adaptations will be considered if you have secured underlying rights. Scripts may be sent by email or mail without prior synopsis or dialogue samples.
